Bible Art Class

Laura Kelley's Bible

I attended Laura Kelley's Bible Art Journaling class yesterday. She had just returned from a trip to Africa. You can read about her Swaziland visit on her  BLOG HERE. She always donates her class fees. The monies raised from this class will provide sewing machines for the women to make these gorgeous bags, which can be purchased at Timbali Crafts.

She begins the class with a prayer, and shares her story of  Bible Journaling. Somehow, with 5 kids, she finds time EVERY day to open her BIBLE.

She opens pages of her Bible, and explains how she did the artwork, and shares what message she received.

This week, I will be sharing my attempts at Bible Art.
I will use my stamps, because that is my comfort zone,
AND.... I have a LOT of stamps!

I Masked off 1 inch across cardstock, and stamped leaves with Sweet Pear, and Kiwi inks. Matted on Sweet Pear cardstock, and trimmed with deckle scissors Card is Oatmeal Cookie. Bird is inked with Oatmeal Cookie, and leaf in kiwi. Stamp sets are Lead Me, and Faith plan.

adhere to doily
Stamp tea time on pattern paper cut into square
and punch corners
attach string with staple
Fill large teabag with assorted teas,
and fold close top
Adhere doily tag with staple
adhere teatime tag with staple
and pop dot

Dab stipple brush into Fun Stampers Journey Candy Apple ink,

and apply to verse using "up and down pouncing motion"

My "pattern paper"is a page from the Bible.My husband questioned me about tearing pages out of the Bible. My thought is...
anything to keep me in the Word of God is a Good Thing!

...my latest addiction...Tub Teas. ~ Drop into a warm bath and Enjoy!

Tub Tea Recipe:
2 cups Epsom salts,
1 cup oatmeal,
1 cup powdered milk
essential oils, or dried flowers or herbs.
(I chose to add 12 drops of Rose essential oils, and petals that had dropped from my rose bushes)

Using Large Tea bags from Stampington and Company, you will be able to fill 5-6 tea bags, and a couple of jars from this recipe.

Tag Recipe:
Print "Rose Tub Tea" from computer
Die-cut oval shape, and matte on larger cream cardstock oval
Stamp  flower, and color 
Staple to top of teabag

another Tub Tea

Another Tub Tea. 

With this one, the recipient, can add their own fragrance to the jar ingredients,

 fill the Tea bag, and Enjoy!

Print Tub Tea from Computer
Stamp flower (Full Bloom stamp set)  using Lavender ink
Die cut with Spellbinders scalloped circle,
matte on larger Lavender circle
Roll up tea bag, tie with twine, attach to back of tag
Tie around jar with Fun Stampers Journey twine

Tub Tea Recipe:

and secure with staple

and adhere to bag
